It was another 5am start for the final B1ke race of the season at Windhill.
Team riders Harvey Wilkinson and Will Hatch walked the track to try and identify any advantageous lines, but there was little line choice on this particular track. Harvey identified a big gap near the bottom of the track that required a big pull to make the gap. They also found a cheeky inside line on the steep drop section of the track, which helped skip out the wet and slippery roots running perpendicular to the trail which caught a lot of riders out later on in the day.
Harvey had a great mornings practice getting in a few solid runs. He managed a time of 47 seconds putting him in first place in the senior category.
Will unfortunately had a big crash on his second practice run on the final ski jump where he got bucked and went over the bars, slicing up his hands. Despite his injuries Will decided to have a relaxed second race run and just make it down the hill.
The weather was perfect all day with no rain!! There were lots of exhibitors and we had some great burgers and hot chocolates from the caterers.
The Wheelie stand looked great and was nice to see lots of our customers racing and supporting.
Thanks to the B1ke team for putting on a great season of races and we look forward to continuing our support and race attendance in 2025.
